As a product designer in Zalando's digital experience team, you will craft highly engaging browsing experiences for our wildly successful fashion e-commerce platform, guiding more than 22 million customers to the products and content that they personally desire.
In close collaboration with other designers, researchers, product managers, and front-end engineers you will deliver best-in-class user experiences that solve demonstrated customer needs around navigation, including in particular how we display products, outfits, collections and content in a rich catalog to make selection both easy and inspiring.
Discover: Get to know our customers’ motivations, habits and fashion discovery trails -- both through individual interviews and data mining. Look far and wide to anticipate relevant interaction trends. Lead stakeholders to insights into various modes of browsing and the associated customer needs.
Define: Develop and communicate the user journeys for fashion wayfinding. Define how to map rich metadata to meaningful interaction patterns. Choreograph the interplay between browsing, sorting, filtering and tagging.
Design: Craft forward-thinking navigation modules, pages and flows for responsive web and mobile apps. Teach algorithms to create aesthetically appealing and personally relevant catalog layouts that blend products, outfits, advice and inspiration. Enable highly desirable, intuitive interfaces. Be a mindful consumer of — and contributor to — the Zalando Design System.
Deliver: Build prototypes to generate user insights. Work closely with developers to get your designs built, assuring quality. Measure your impact on personal relevance. Iterate to excellence based on data.
You are a mid-career, senior or maybe even principal designer. You will demonstrate a second-to-none UX mindset with an ability to contribute to conversations regarding UI topics with collaborators such as our design systems team. To land this job you will show and explain raw artifacts from various stages of the design process, demonstrating both your well-rounded experience and your stand-out skills.
