YOU ARE READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT

As a digital product designer in Zalando's Search team, you will craft highly engaging browse and find experiences for our wildly successful fashion e-commerce platform, guiding more than 22 million customers to products and content they desire.

YOU WILL SET STANDARDS

In close collaboration with other designers, researchers, product managers, and front-end engineers you will deliver best-in-class user experiences that solve demonstrated customer needs around search and navigation.

You will pioneer the future of wayfinding for online fashion.

Discover: Get to know our customers’ motivations, habits, and fashion discovery trails -- both through individual interviews and data mining. Look far and wide to anticipate relevant interaction trends. Within a complex problem space, lead stakeholders to insights into various modes of shopping behavior.

Define: Develop and communicate the user journeys for finding fashion. Define how to map rich metadata to meaningful interaction patterns. Choreograph the interplay between searching, sorting, filtering, tagging, and browsing.

Design: Craft concrete navigation patterns and search interactions. Design search and navigation modules, pages and flows for responsive web and mobile apps. Enable highly desirable, intuitive interfaces.

Deliver: Build prototypes to generate user insights. Work closely with developers to get your designs built, assuring quality. Measure your impact on personal relevance. Iterate to excellence based on data.

YOU ARE SKILLED

You are a mid-career, senior or maybe even principal designer. To land this job you will show and explain raw artifacts from various stages of the design process, demonstrating both your well-rounded experience and your stand-out skills.

Empathy: You have the mindset and methodologies to understand customers. You delight first and foremost in serving their needs effectively.

Craft: You are fluent in UX design methods and tools. You orchestrate unified experiences across devices and throughout the customer journey while knowing how to embody specific solutions in a usable and delightful interaction.

Experimentation: You have a generative approach, strive to solve problems in the best way possible through iteration, and are willing to kill your darlings.

Storytelling: You bring not just users but also stakeholders on a journey of increasing intimacy by explaining your designs clearly and telling compelling tales.
