"In my free time, I'm always out and about; mostly with the longboard and often with friends. I'm interested in photography, sports, the stories and history of old buildings and the latest technologies. In my Warehouse Logistics apprenticeship at Zalando I also have a lot of action and variety. The warehouse in Mönchengladbach never stands still, it's always in motion - just like me. With 15 km of bucket conveyor technology and about 125 km of bag sorter conveyor equipment, I sometimes wonder: "How can all this work? How does everything run so smoothly, man and machine working hand in hand?" I'm particularly interested in the numbers and their impact on the logistics processes. Every day here is different. I like that. Just by going through the various departments, there are always new challenges from which I can grow. The work in Management excites me as well - whether getting to know the tasks in the Safety Department, or sneak peaking into Process Management - I now understand the context better and am looking forward to the third year of my apprenticeship."
"I am from China and studied at Grenoble École de Management at the Berlin Campus. When I finished all my classes at University I had some time to find an internship and wanted to use my knowledge from school and apply it in the real world. Zalando was the perfect fit as I’m also interested in Fashion E-commerce and have similar experiences in my career path. I started off doing an internship in the Competitive Intelligence Team within Strategy and Business Acceleration. I worked on Newsletters, did market and competitor analysis, supported strategic reports, and collaborated on insight reports regarding industry topics like AI and Emerging markets. Just like Berlin, Zalando has an international vibe. In our team, we have 5 people and each of us comes from a different country. What also impressed me was the mindset of ‘’work hard, play hard’’ and I found this was a great opportunity to learn from interesting and smart colleagues. Recently, I’ve moved up from being an Intern to having a full-time position as a Junior Business Analyst. I would encourage other students to stay curious, be proactive and don’t be afraid to ask or to apply!"
