Zalando Payments GmbH (ZPS) builds and owns the technologies for all financial transactions in the Zalando Fashion Store and our other consumer-facing apps. Our vision at Zalando Payments is to offer the most convenient and seamless payment checkout experience to +50M active Zalando customers across 25 markets.
We are currently looking for an entrepreneurial and data driven individual to join the Customer Solutions team as a Business Development Manager. You will work with a team of Product Managers and Product Analysts to assess strategic business opportunities, create business cases and manage a multitude of service providers, including negotiating for the best possible setup as well as handling contract negotiations and internal stakeholder alignment across all of Zalando.
As part of the Customer Solutions Department, you'll play a key role in enabling our teams to deliver outstanding payment experiences and offer the most convenient payment methods to our customers. WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Derive and communicate strategic recommendations based on global market and competitor research, user testing results, assessment of the regulatory and economical environment.
(Co-)Create business cases together with Product Managers to enable decisions on future key initiatives, roadmap prioritisation and as an input for financial and operational planning.
Support the execution of initiatives by developing go to market strategies together with the team as well as multiple stakeholders such as Marketing teams and external agencies.
Support in the decision making processes (make or buy, provider selection) in close alignment with controlling, finance, engineering and product teams.
Manage and steer global and local external payment service providers to ensure alignment with our strategy and sustainable business success; Support commercial negotiations with external payment service providers.
Manage stakeholder relationships for high priority global initiatives with various cross-functional teams within the Zalando Group and with external payment providers.
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF...
Analytical and strategic mindset, number/ data driven, with the skills to evaluate both qualitative and quantitative data and derive insights to make informed decisions.
Min. 3 years of experience in a Business Development/ Growth/ Strategy/ Analytics/ Finance/ Consulting role; background in e-commerce or Payments is a plus but not a must-have.
Strong problem-solving skills: ability to structure problems and derive solutions with various unknowns.
Strong people/Stakeholder management: This role requires maintaining and leveraging good relationships within Zalando Payments, Zalando Group and serving as the primary point of contact for external payment service providers. Excellent communication skills are strictly required.
Comfortable with handling multiple initiatives in parallel, ability to enable impactful P&L decisions.
Ability to work and to execute in a fast-paced environment.
