You work for the Customer Analytics team in Zalando’s Markets organisation, which enables data driven business strategies for 20+ countries. Through our customer analytics and customer segmentations we put our customers at the centre of every marketing and retail decision. As a Data Analyst in the Customer Analytics team, you will put customer data at the core of our decisions and processes.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
You derive actionable customer insights and recommendations to fuel our Zalando business and the customer strategy. Your insights are derived from deep dive analysis you perform using a broad range of analytical methods and visualisations applied to data from various sources (transactional data, onsite data etc)
You proactively share your insights and recommendations in regular business reviews to senior management by providing compelling visualisations and stories. You seek opportunities to spread the insights beyond regular touchpoints with the aim of sourcing new business opportunities
You develop and optimise forecasting models for key customer metrics and provide expertise on current and expected trends for central planning efforts in close collaboration with our commercial planning teams
You drive analytical and data mindset in the team and provide senior guidance to your team members
You effectively collaborate with other analysts, data scientists, engineers to untap new sources of data and know how
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years of experience in using data in smart and creative ways to answer business questions incl. model driven statistical analysis. Very good quantitative degree, e.g. in Economics, Social Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields.
Proficient in data transformation and statistical computing in SQL and Python as well as strong skills in data visualisation. Basic experience in Google Analytics (BigQuery), MicroStrategy/Tableau, Airflow, Spark / DataBricks, and / or Github. Knowledge of basic time series forecasting techniques (SARIMAX, Prophet, Covariates) is considered a plus
Strong communication and visualisation skills and the ability to translate complex datasets into understandable and actionable insights and present to senior management in order to impact their decisions and strategy
Being curious and proactively creating insights while demonstrating end to end ownership of analytical projects. You innovate on new methodologies and datasets but also have a good sense when an pragmatic solution is sufficient
You are a role model and proved to be a mentor for junior to mid level team members
