THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The vision of Performance Marketing is to build industry leading solutions that create and deepen relationships with qualified customers to deliver on Zalando’s business objectives. The Performance Marketing Analytics team works closely across all different departments (Marketing, Product, Applied Science and Engineering) fostering cross-functional collaboration and workstreams, with the primary focus to support our stakeholders with data-informed guidance and recommendations.

As the Team Lead for PM Analytics, you will put data at the core of our decisions and processes. You will be responsible to work with a number of stakeholders in (1) building and maintaining reporting data products, (2) enabling data-driven business steering, and (3) applying analytical models to create business insights related to growth and profitability of the different Performance Marketing channels.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Defining the PM Analytics roadmap of the team to prioritise analytics projects and initiatives based on their potential impact and alignment with business priorities

  • Successfully leading and owning analytical or research projects and initiatives by supervising or conducting descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics using state-of-the-art modelling techniques and deriving recommendations for our stakeholders

  • Defining end-to-end research and experimentation plans based on problem statements, starting with exploratory analyses to inform hypotheses to selecting the most appropriate methodologies and metrics to understand causal and incremental effects

  • Providing Performance Marketing stakeholders with data-informed guidance and recommendations for targeted improvements in the business

  • Ensuring that the work is conducted according to our project and technical processes, and meets our standards at Zalando’s data community

  • Leading, motivating, and developing the PM Analytics team, prioritizing and supporting them in business, analytical, and technical dimensions while coaching your commercial colleagues to grow their analytical capabilities

WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Proven track record of 7+ years experience in analytics with 2+ years of experience managing and developing analytics teams, ideally in an e-commerce environment

  • Excellent educational background in Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative field. 

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and/or Python with a good mathematical and statistics foundation

  • Profound understanding of advanced analytics techniques, experimentation frameworks and forecasting methodologies

  • You balance technical acumen with business understanding and excel in collaborating with commercial stakeholders to drive insightful, robust analyses and managing expectations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a curious and self-starter mindset to convince and win any audience
